Pool Opening Plan
Happy Spring Neighbors!
The HOA Board is working hard to develop a plan which will allow us to open the swimming pool this season. The pool has been opened and the chemicals balanced as recommended by the company which we go to for advice related to pool issues as they shared that it would be harmful to our liner if we left it covered for the summer. So, it was opened, even though we were unsure if we could allow swimmers this year. In talking with a number of residents, it seems clear the majority of the neighborhood wants the pool open to swimmers.
Please remember, beginning this year, there will be no passwords programmed for the gate. Only key cards will be in use. Please email countryviewhoa@yahoo.com if you need a key card and we will arrange to get it to you. (Limit one key per household. A $5 fee may apply. Please see the standard Pool Policies page)
2020 COVID-Related Changes
We have implemented the following changes in order to comply with social distancing requirements and CDC recommendations:
-
There will be a limit of 10 people inside the fenced area at any given time. This number is based on the Governor's requirement that public spaces limit the number of people in a space based on square footage of the facility. If you are not swimming we ask that you wait outside the fenced area. If you have small children who need adult supervision on the deck, please limit non-swimming adults on the pool deck to one. This will allow more swimmers to enjoy the pool at a time.
-
Some type of disinfectant will be provided at the gate, please use it on the area of the gate you touch when you arrive and when you leave.
-
Pool furniture will not be accessible. You are welcome to bring your own chair.
-
Any items left at the pool with be thrown away daily.
-
No toys may be left at the pool or in the bench for sharing as has been done in past years.
-
The only visitors allowed inside the pool deck are immediate family members of Country View residents (parents, children, grand-children, siblings, etc.)
The pool belongs to everyone and we want to make sure everyone is comfortable while complying with requirements/recommendations from health and government officials. In addition to the changes outlined above, we have gathered some ideas for ways to make use of the pool as fair as possible while allowing as many families as possible to enjoy it. Following are two plans under consideration for ensuring compliance with the ten-person rule. Please review them and provide your input at the survey linked at the bottom of the page.
Option one: The Sign Up Plan
-
We will use a software program called SignupGenus.
-
Signup is for 30 minute blocks. Families may sign up for 2 blocks in a row for a 60-minute block.
-
Must sign up by the night prior.
-
2 families can use the pool at a time
-
Sign up will be physically printed and posted at the pool each morning.
-
For same day, families must check the printout at the pool and physically write in their name. Still limit it to 1 hour for the day, but not restricted to the weekly limit. (That way someone who used their 2 hours isn’t forced to skip the pool if it’s empty.)
-
Maximum 1 hour per day, and 2 hours per week. (This prevents someone from taking the prime 6-7PM slot each evening.)
-
Signups become available 5 days in advance
Option two: Single Family Use Plan
-
Pool use limited to one family at a time.
-
Maximum 1 hour per day, and 2 hours per week. (This prevents someone from taking the prime 6-7PM slot each evening.)
-
You must sign in at the gate with your name, address, and the time you arrive and leave.
-
You may include neighbors or immediate family members during your allotted swim time.
-
The Capacity limit is still 10 people inside the fence.
Option three: Leave the Pool Closed
-
We could simply not open the pool until the situation improves
-
We will monitor the guidance from the Governor and CDC and wait for better timing.
